The69er.com test pilot took the all new Dartmoor Bikes Primal hardtail, from the 2016 range, out for a shred and was pleasantly surprised, checkout the video and review below…
The new model is a big step up from the previous Primal from the Polish hardcore brand, Dartmoor Bikes. With a radically dropped top tube this baby has some sweet lines matched up by some cool colour/graphic options.
The frame is compact and handles tight technical trails really well, that mixed with a 66.5 degree head angle; when combined with a 150mm travel fork, makes for a fun ride.
The ride is also improved by a super-stiff rear triangle, which is surprisingly compliant on rough terrain and tough landings.
This bike built by the guys at Slam69 is also wearing a pair of the new 35mm bars from Dartmoor, the Lightning, held in place by a sweet Fury 35mm stem.
Other components matched up well especially the Fox Float 34 fit 4 fork, with an improved damper over previous years its great to see Fox living up to the name. At 3.92Ibs they helped make the Primal a light weight package in trail bike terms.
The Dartmoor primal is available as frame only or as a complete custom build from Slam69 in the UK. Frame only price is just £195 and comes in 4 colours.
