Salsa Cycles have for many years been a leader in the Fatbike world and this new build goes some way to showing why.
Many fatbike fans will be aware of the carbon Beargrease bikes from Salsa but the aluminium version is well worth a look if you are after a fast fatty and can’t quite stretch the wallet to carbon.
This particular bike is custom built, using the best components to suit the type of frame and to the customers preference. Raceface are well behind the fatbike development and supply a great range of components.
This type of spec is aimed firmly at making a true all round mountain bike. Rockshox Bluto forks deliver control when this get rough at speed, the Surly Nate tyres are a firm favourite with a good balance grip versus weight. As for the wheels they too have become benchmark for value and weight with the DTswiss 710 rims laced onto the new Pro4 Fatsno hubs from Hope. The gearing is taken care of by Shimano with the 1 x 11 speed XT shifter, mech and 11-42t cassette.
