Its a Cutthroat world out there.

IMG_2162  So pleased to get the opportunity to build this beauty. Read on…

Being a UK Salsa Dealer we get to build and ride some lovely bikes and this is one such build.

We sponsor a local rider, Paul Spencer, who has taken to endurance riding after trying many different disciplines of mountain biking over the last 4 years.

The frame is a Salsa Cutthroat carbon with a pair of the new Lauf boost forks strapped to the front.

Wheels are made up with Halo Vapour 29er rims, laced to a Hope pro4 rear, which we have fitted out with Enduro ceramic bearings and a SON 28 dynamo boost front, held together with DT comp stainless spokes. We wrapped these in a pair of Schwalbe Thunder Burt tyres. The front hub will power the USB port on the steerer top cap,

taking care of power for the long hauls.

Gearing is SRAM Rival and Force 1 x 11, driven by a pair of SRAM GX 1400 cranks, spinning on an Enduro ceramic bottom bracket.

Bars are Salsa Woodchippers, strange to the untrained eye but so nice to ride on and great for varying your hand positions on long rides. We’ve wrapped these in ESI bar tape, which offers great comfort and you can remove it and use again.

Expect to see this bike around with Paul’s first event being the Dirty Reiver on April 22nd, followed by Tuscany Trail.

Next up is its first test ride then fit it out with Wildcatgear luggage ready for testing before the serious stuff.

If you feel like you may like to try such a bike we have demo bikes available at Slam69, we can also build you a bespoke bike to suit your pocket and your requirements.
